sassy
I finally went to get my hair cut and colored today (it's been 4 months -- yikes!). I always love going to the salon. 2 1/2 hours of me time. Getting my hair washed by someone else, such a luxury. And best of all, having my hair blown out and straightened by someone who actually knows what she is doing!
But when I got home, Eva's reaction reminded me of how long it's been since I really made an effort in this department (with the humidity in Paris, I gave up entirely, and I've only done it once since we returned). She gave me a look of sheer adoration and uttered "Mama" as if I'd taken her breath away. All day long she kept touching my hair and telling me she liked it. It's the best compliment I've had in a long time!
Thanks for making this mama feel pretty, baby (oh, and you too, Sharolyn).

You look oh so sassy! I'm so glad you got some "me" time, a great compliment from Eva and the self-esteem boost that comes with a trip to the salon.
I love this! Salon time is so precious- I love how I feel walking away from it. Eva is a cutie.
you are gorgeous!! makes me want to go right now!
Lovely, lovely change! Eva must think you're some kind of princess!
Salon time is fab for the free coffees and the magazine reading, uninterrupted! Sometimes even the 'head massage' they give you...I almost fall asleep!
You look great, and sassy is better than feeling groggy, no?
So cute!!!
hey you look stunning....what a wonderful treat. I think it is such a great change from groggy...how nice to receive such paid compliment from your little one. Yeah, I wish sometimes we lived in the greek/roman era, where there you were indeed a princess hopefully...and not the one doing all the work.
It was nice visiting with your and the other girls. I so much thoroughly enjoyed it.
cute photo Michelle! I share the sentiments- especially having someone else wash my hair!
Cute hair! And that's hilarious about Eva--she's so funny!
I love getting my hair blow-dried! That's the only time I wish I had long thick hair so it would never end!!!! But no I have short fine hair and it only takes like ten min. to dry!
Great photo too!
oooh you do look sassy! I love it! I think it is so cute how Eva loved it too and kept telling you. What a sweetie. Getting a hair cut is one of the best treats I think. So relaxing.
Michelle you have the most beautiful hair I've ever seen, I love it curly and I definetely love it straight.
Eva is right... Maaaaaaaaaama!
Love the picture, love getting my hair washed at the salon, and I love that Eva made you feel so great!
Oh my, I love that picture! Sassy indeed! (:
I must confess, I love a trip to have my hair done. Especially when they do the wash - hello scalp massage that basically could put me to sleep! I'm a bit fretful though as my stylist moved to D.C., and going to a new person is always scary the first time - yikes!
Seriously though, the new 'do looks so saucy! (And so cute of Eva!)
That is too funny! At least her comments are more flattering than Emily's (when she was about 6). When I walked in the door after having my hair done in a new way, she promptly--and without hesitation--declared, "You look like Cruella DeVille in the morning!" Hmm. As if Cruella DeVille wasn't bad enough--Cruella DeVille IN THE MORNING! It's a favorite family quote to this day.
Love the hair! So glad you had time to go and you look great! So cute about your daughter! Can't wait for my hair appointment tomorrow morning! Have a great day!
I love that your feel good about yourself. I will take a compliment however I can get it, including from toddlers!
LOVE IT!! Very sassy indeed.
You look gorgeous. I am desperate need of a haircut and color. Just not ready to fork over the $100 it will cost me even though I know it will be such a boost.
i love your hair. i love it curly too.
Sassy indeed. We all need outings like that. Even better when the kids notice as well ")
Great hair! Remember the story Grandma tells of Patti saying of herself, "You'd be pretty too, if you had long hair and a different face...." comparing her to a favorite adored beautiful teacher when she was very young!
Go for it yourself in the straightening department! It looks beautiful.
You look beautiful! Compliments from your kids are the best kind!
I love the pouty lipped pose, you look fabulous!!
Love it - the hair and the Eva comment!!
