Yesterday I got a call shortly before church. It was a member of the bishopric, asking if I could come meet with him. Never has a call like that been so welcome!
{drum roll, please...}
I was released from cub scouts!!! (I have to help out for the next couple of weeks, but since I have officially been released I don't care that much.)
And my new calling is the best calling in the world: primary pianist!
I am a very happy girl.
And do you want to know the funniest part? On Saturday, I finally decided to stop complaining about cub scouts, to just suck it up and do it. Wouldn't you know it?

Yay! This is great news! I have been wondering in my life too if I would finally turn it over to the Lord if I could be done with it.
Thanks for your good example! I am glad your stint in cub scouts wasn't too long.
Such great and happy news!!!
:D
This is some seriously good news! I think we should all breathe a collective sigh of relief!
Oh man, that is awesome! I must confess, I am feeling pangs of jealousy (I'm the 1st Counselor in the Primary Presidency, overseeing Cub Scouts), and Primary Pianist would DEFINITELY be my ideal calling.
Glad you are out of scouting!
Wonderful news! I've never been in scouts, but I know exactly how I would feel about it. This deserves a celebration!
Congratulations! This is cause for a celebration! Primary pianist will be a piece of cake!
A big yahoo! I have always struggled with scouts but good for you hanging in there.
I spent my first 3 married years in cub scouts so can definitely empathize. It is a world all its own...one that you only truly appreciate about a year after being done with it!
I am so glad you can have a change. It's always nice when it is something you would rather be doing. I can't imagine cub scouts. A little frightening to me.
Hot Dog!!!!
That happens to me a lot too! I finally get a hang of the calling or finally get a good attitude about it and then the next second a new calling! Enjoy the new calling.
Yay! I am so glad for you!
I secretly (I guess not so secretly since I am writing it here) DREAD the thought of cubscouts as a calling!
Major cause for celebration! I get lost in the lingo alone so I have no idea what I would do with this calling. Good for you for sticking it out and even better that the stint is OVER!!
Yeah!!
Oh, I hated being in cubs! I don't know if they just look at me and assume with four boys that I must love the program? Truth is - I don't! Had that calling four years ago.
I totally believe that when you start to like your calling or "accept" it and stop complaining - shazahm! You are released!
My sista, Anna, had that calling. She LOVED it! What a great gig you have now! Yahoo!!! for you!
hurray for you...you know it is all about the journey not the destination huh.....
So hilarious! Primary pianist is such a great calling, and since you most likely know all the songs already -hopefully it will be a welcome break from cub scouts!
So does this mean we must learn something before we can be released and move on? ;)
The primary music is SO great! This was my sista's fave too. ciao
I remember when I was released from my family history calling. It was one of the best Sundays I've ever had. That sounds so bad, but it's true.
yea! Hope your day is good today, I know it must be hardest on you (Jessie's move).
I've been in Cubs for four years. It was just announced we will have a mulit ward meeting this Sunday, rumors about boundary reorganizing. I'm crossing my fingers that this is the end to my Cub time too. Oh please, oh please, oh please! But I don't play the piano, so leaving Cubs could just set me up for something worse. Oh why didn't I practice more as a kid?
Congrats!
