great party

Those of you that couldn't make it to the blog party, you were missed!

Those of you who attended know it was a good one! I have to say, when Jill hosts a gathering, she never disappoints.

Noah's was nicer than I would have predicted -- it was actually pretty cute, and even the chairs were comfier than I expected. Jill had good music on tap, an abundance of m&ms and drinks, blogger questionnaires, door prizes, party favors, and of course her signature wit.

The highlight for me was watching Jill go around the entire room, giving a thorough introduction of every single attendee, on the spot. I'm willing to bet that no one else could do that! She was really on her game, and now everyone knows what I do: she has a steel trap memory and a very big heart. One thing I really admire about Jill is how inclusive she is, and how she manages to create one big circle of her many many friends.

So funny that I just knew Claudia would show up unannounced. It's just such a Claudia thing to do! Jill came over to tell me, excitedly, that Claudia was there. I wasn't even surprised. I met Claudia once, very briefly, years ago, but that was before I really knew her, so it was very fun to talk to her now that we have connected via blogging and good mail.

It was great to meet many people that I have only known from blogging. I was surprised by some people's voices. Did you know that both Tasha and Dana have deep sexy voices? You can't tell that by reading!

The gift exchange was great fun -- I loved seeing the creativity involved in everybody's selections. Dana brought a big stack of padded envelopes, why didn't I think of that? I received 12 handmade cards by Lindsey, pretty cool!

The best thing someone told me all night: Elisa said she wants her daughter to marry one of my sons. I've never received a better compliment!

{can you stand this gorgeous bruschetta that Amy M. made?}

I didn't get home until after midnight, but I could have talked for hours more. Pretty good for a self-proclaimed homebody and shy girl like me! Thanks, Jill, for all of the work that went into planning this party. I know it was weighing on your mind for quite some time. You pulled it off just beautifully!

It sounds like a lot of fun. I hate that I had to miss it. Jill is amazing at how friendly she is and how comfortable she makes everyone feel when she's around them.

How did you know Claudia was going to show up? I had given up hope of her doing that so I was really surprised.

How sweet that Elisa wants one of your boys (which one?) to marry Miriam, that's cute.

Thanks for your nice comments about me, it's hard for me not to feel like a complete spazz.

I talked to Tasha for a ridiculously long time yesterday and she was telling me about the party. We were both impressed that Jill could introduce everyone with added information about each person. She is a superstar.

Wasn't it fun? I haven't been told that I have a deep and sexy voice before, so thank you!

I got home at 1 am, but it was so worth it!

Noah's was great, wasn't it?

I'm jealous of your circle of darling friends. I feel out of the loop because I haven't made time to read the blogs this summer. I'm turning over a new leaf and I'm going to be more diligent!

It was such a fun party and I am so glad I got to meet you. All of you had such great personalities. You are so right, it was interesting to see how different some people are in real life. I can't wait until the next one!

Wish I was there! It did sound like a great party. I am laughing about the voice thing. I totally didn't imagine Jill to have a deep voice when I met her last year for some reason.

I never thought Tasha to have a deep voice, but I guess she kinda does. I never paid attention since I have heard it so much before. Love the gift table!!

The voice comment is the best and I would have to agree. Your thoughts are always so fun to read. Thanks again for this morning!

I had been wanting to meet you for a long time Michelle. The way Jill always talks about what a first class friend you are I knew meeting you would be one of the highlights of the night. And I was right.

I hope it is not another year before I get a chance to chat with you again. :)

This was a great party recap, and I love how you included some praise for Jill that she would not have told us herself! So nice. I am so wishing I had been there.

I wanted nothing more than to be at that party. Next year I am skipping out, there is no way I want to miss another one. Love your recap and photos. What a perfect place/setting to meet all these great people!

It's lovely to hear when someone's expectations of an event are surpassed. I'm glad the venue turned out to be such a good choice, as I imagine Jill might've been stressing about making that change.

Really glad that you had a good time!

Oh so sad to have missed it. It fell during our family vacation so I had to just send you all good vibes instead.

Sounds so great. I can't wait to read more about it.
