I took the kids to BHV (Bazar de l'Hotel de Ville) to do a little shopping. (We're scrambling a bit now to get everything done we wanted to before returning home.)
Afterwards we each got a treat at one of my favorite sandwich shops and sat down by the fountains in front of the Hotel de Ville. Here's the treat rundown -- Michelle: veggie sandwich on multi-grain baguette, Max: chocolate eclair: Lucas: pain au chocolat (basically a croissant with chocolate inside), Eva: tiny chocolate cake. This is pretty representative of everyone's favorite treats, with the exception of me -- if I had had a treat it would have been an almond croissant...
There was a no swimming sign posted on the fountain, which we found amusing, since the water is only about 6-8" deep. I don't know how anyone could manage to swim in there, but we did wish we could take off our shoes and go wading.
There is currently a big garden exhibit in the courtyard in front of l'Hotel de Ville. We strolled around and found plenty of interesting things to look at, all in pretty combinations of oranges, pinks, and greens!
Sadly, the grass armchair has seen better days. I don't know if it has watering issues or too many bird admirers!
Kristi, this is for you! We saw it inside the store and of course I thought of you.

Great photos as always. I love almond croissants also. DO they still have that french bakery in Provo? I used to buy those all the time.
I can only imagine how panicked you must be feeling right now with your last few days in Paris. I know you've been there two months, but there's just so much to see and do.
These pictures are beautiful, I love the orange picket fence, the pink fridge, the fountains, all of it.
I am sad that your Pais stay is coming to an end and I don't even know you!! Have so enjoyed reading about all your adventures and seeing the beautiful sights through your photos. I will have to get myself to Europe one of these days. But with the way Griffin acted on the car ride to Georgia, I don't want to take him anywhere until he is grown. I admire you for being in a foreign place with 3 kids!
Thanks for my Paris Good Mail - arrived earlier this week. What a nice treat!
Oh how I love the orange picket fence! I can only imagine how rushed you must feel to get it all in and at the same time start to get things ready to come home.
I can't believe Paris is already coming to an end. The time flew and I know exactly what you mean about running out of time. I do that whenever I go anywhere. I would for sure be doing it in Paris!
Once again, awesome photos!
how stunning are your pics? you really brighen my day each time i stop by
and the orange fence? LOVE! Makes me want to run out and paint mine right now...
I don't know how you decide what pictures to take that could outdo the last! I need to study them all over and over to cheer me up! I know the vendor for the mini iceboxes! Way cute other stuff in the line too! You have quite the adventursome days in Paris! Sigh. And I, like you, LOVE the orange fence! The nasturtium tickled my heart too!
so great! i love reading your posts about places and outings you've been at in paris. enjoy the rest of your time- thanks for sharing it! it's like a virtual vacation! :)
How do you manage to make me want to get on a plane and fly to Paris tomorrow with every one of your posts? You have a way with capturing the artistic flair of Paris.
