red alert!

Today was not a great day.

Everyone has a cold, Eva was whiny and wanting to be held all day, and basically I felt all of the good feelings of the last couple of days slipping away.

Panic ensued.

And, the worse part is: I don't have my passport. I have been in communication with the State Department all week, they were expediting our applications, and the kids' all arrived by FedEx this morning. Not mine. I finally got in touch with our contact about an hour ago and discovered that, somehow, incredibly, he didn't know about my application.

He is estimating that it will arrive Tuesday afternoon. Our flight leaves Tuesday morning. $#%@!!!

For real???

I'm sick that the kids are sick (I don't know why you don't believe that there is some funky mold or entity in your house).

Sick that your passport didn't arrive.

And sick that the good feelings from the past 2 days are gone. $#@%^

Maybe this means Marc should fly out Tuesday with the kids and you should fly out Thursday with the book club girls!!!

Hmmmm. I feel badly for you. Nothing worse than stress you can do nothing about. Hmmmm.

Shut up. I cannot believe you don't have your passport and NOW they have all your documents to even get the crazy thing. Too bad you don't live by me, we could drive to Houston and get it done in one day.

Good luck. Wait- the book club girls are going this week too?

Not acceptable! Don't they know all that you have been through in the last 2 weeks? They should know better! I hope somehow, something is resolved and you can breathe a sigh of relief! So sorry about the last minute stress! Crossing my fingers for you...

First thing Monday morning call either Senator Bennett or Senator Hatch's local office. They have liasons who deal with this sort of thing and they should be able to help you, even if it means putting a bug in the State Department's ear. Good luck!!!
