Our precious, long-lost iMac was returned to us tonight!
It needed a new power supply. The reason it took so long for the repair is that the technician asked Apple to cover the cost of the repair (apparently it is common enough in this model and our machine is not old enough to normally require this). That's how long it took Apple to respond and approve it! The technician got the word this afternoon and we got it back tonight. sheesh. It was nice not to have to pay anything, but if I had known how long I was going to be without a computer....
I just spent two hours reading my emails and now I'm downloading all the photos I've taken in the last 10 days!
I have much to report on, including my birthday, but it will have to wait until tomorrow. Who knows how long it will take me to get caught up? But I am definitely thrilled to have the opportunity.

Geez, btwn you and Jill it seems like there is a lot of technical difficulties happening over there. It must have been awful waiting so long for your good friend, iMac. I HATE hate hate being without a computer but worse is no internet. I hope you survived it ok. Good to have you back. At least you'll have lots of fun stuff to read the next few days.
