happy day

Today is my one year blog anniversary!

So, even though:
  • all three of my kids are sick
  • Eva woke up at 4:45 a.m.
  • I had to take her to the doctor
  • I had to go buy 2 prescriptions
  • I had to teach piano lessons
  • I didn't get a nap
  • I didn't get my laundry done
  • I'm not ready for the Enrichment class I'm teaching tomorrow night (card-making)
today is still a happy day.

I'm just so happy that Jill decided to start blogging and that she persuaded me and so many others to hop aboard.

Since I started:
  • I have written 296 posts (I was aiming for 300 today, darn it!)
  • I finally found a way to reach out to all my friends and family with one fell swoop -- now that's maximizing my very limited outreach efforts!
  • My mom figured out how to use a mouse! (Hell, she even has an email account and a laptop now!)
  • I have gotten to know my friends so much better
  • I have reconnected with some old friends
  • I have made many many new friends
  • My faith in the general goodness of people has been strengthened
  • I have received countless items of thoughtful good mail
  • I have had the good fortune to meet several new blogging friends in person
  • I have kept the most thorough and long-lasting journal of my life thus far
  • I have had a forum for complaining, bouncing ideas, asking questions, seeking answers, and expressing my thoughts
  • I have been inspired by so many amazing women
  • It has been more rewarding than I ever thought possible!
Here's to many more...

Happy Blogging Anniversary!! I'm so glad you joined the blogging world too. I doesn't matter that we talk all the time and spend hours together every Friday, I still learn more about you through your blog!

I'm sorry the kids are sick, I guess that shot your healthy streak to pieces eh? But you've got a new fridge!

Happy Blogging Anniversary! I haven't commented on your blog before, but have really enjoyed reading it for a while now. One of my resolutions has been to stop the "lurking" and to start commenting! I hope that your kids feel better real soon.

Happy Blogday Michelle! I'm glad you started blogging, too. I enjoy reading your posts and seeing your many ideas. And if you hadn't started blogging? I wouldn't have been the lucky recipient of the wonderful Pink Christmas gift you made for me. So...definitely have a Happy Blog day today.

Happy Blog Anniversary! I'm surprised you've written so many posts! I seem to remember several computer outages, sick kids, etc, that kept you from posting. I guess they didn't constitute as many days as I thought they did.

I'm sorry you had a rough day. I'm really begining to hate cold and flu season. I hope they feel better today, or at least that you get a nap. Naps are essential for bad days. At least you had happy blogging memories to see you through.

I hope your kids feel better soon, that is never fun - and hope you find the chance for a glorious nap today!

It's so strange to think it was a year ago you started your blog. I think I can recall Jill begging you to do it. I'm so glad you did. It's been great getting to know you and seeing your genius at work.

I could say ditto to everything in your list. I'm really glad that despite what went on yesterday you're feeling good and positive.

Well, Happy Anniversary!

I love what you have received from blogging, you put into words so much of what I think! Can I print your blog as mine?! :)

If I had three wishes, one of them would be that your kids didn't get sick again! You have had your share my friend!!

I second the excitement! I lOVE it so much, I feel like i'm always in touch! I have to contain myself every day to not start my own blog, for I fear I don't have a minute to commit to one more thing. Reading and occassionally commenting is enough. So please do not follow in the footsteps of your sister and ever think of quitting. I LOVE it so much! Happy Blogging Anniversary and carry on. Tell me more about the kids being sick, call me. I love you.

Dad and I think you should write for a living. You have an extrordinary talent and engaging way with it. Of course, every mother crow thinks her baby's blackest!

I'm so glad you blog! You were an inspiration for me to start mine. I agree with your Mom that you do have the "writer's gift" and I thank you for sharing it.

I love reading your blog, I feel like I know you very well despite the fact that I've only been around you a few times. It's so nice to get to know you and your cute family.
I hope your kids get better soon and you're able to get some rest.

I LOVE this post. I have been surprised by Blogging for the same reasons you listed. Initially I thought, online journal, no big deal. But it has turned into something much bigger than that...love what you said about restoring your faith in the goodness of people. I am AMAZED & INSPIRED daily by blogs that I read. So glad I stumbled into this group of women.

Happy Happy Anniversary! I am grateful for your frequent insights, today particularly for voicing such items ranging from your mom's mouse abilities to the general goodness of people. Keep them coming, please, I will be reading!

Thank you for posting this wonderful list. So often people give me reasons why not to blog and talk about wasted time, dangers of personal information...all that and I never know how to explain why I love it. Your list is exatcly why I love it.

I would be so sad if you ever stopped blogging

I know I've become a lame commentor and hardly deserve to be counted among your blogging friends, but I do love your blog and the way it makes me feel "in touch" with you and your family.

P.S. Unrelated subject: Your Christmas card was my favorite of any I received this year! It's on my fridge and I smile every time I see Eva with that "O" on her head.

Happy anniversary!! (Sorry I am a little late...) We have really enjoyed your blogs (an e-window to your life, your thoughts and feelings and how the kids are doing). It was in part your blog that inspired mom to get into the computer...had to learn to work the mouse in order to comment.

I also REALLY enjoyed your Christmas card. We still have it in the kitchen, and I (like Denise) smile every time I see it.
