more of the same

(Jessie's daughter Bella eating dinner at our house on Friday night.)

I hate to say it, but I've still got the blahs. No doubt because I've still got sickies at my house -- and now that Eva has it, I'm in full-on sleep-deprivation mode. We all stayed home from church yesterday and Eva kept falling asleep on my lap, but if I transferred her to her crib, she would wake up... She woke up last night at 12:45 and was up until 3:15. Then she got up at 6:00 for the day! Even with the vaporizer blasting a cloud of Vicks throughout her room, she still couldn't sleep very well while lying down in her crib. Fortunately, Marc relieved me at 7:30 and I went back to bed for a couple of hours, so I might be able to function today.

The boys are doing quite a bit better and went to school, but Marc has a cough that makes him sound like the walking dead. (At first I said it made him sound like he had pleurisy, because I just wanted to say that, but then I looked up pleurisy and it doesn't necessarily have an awful cough. Oh well...)

Friday shaped up pretty well, with Jill coming over and lifting my spirits as she always does. Then in the late afternoon, Jessie brought Bella over to play while she went to her Relief Society retreat. The girls had a few skirmishes over not knowing how to share, but then Lucas saved the day by playing with them and entertaining them with his Robosapien. (Who knew the Robosapien would be such a good investment?) Now Eva walks around the house calling "Bella! Bella!" a new word for her, and it's pretty cute to hear her calling for her cousin.

Saturday was pretty good as well. Lucas, Eva and I went to the baptism of one of Lucas's good friends from school. It was fun to be there, and Lucas was excited because many of his best friends were there as well. While the baptism boy and his father were getting dressed, his mother passed out papers for us to write our thoughts to him. Lucas wrote: "I hope you stay clean and choose the right path. Love, Lucas". Too funny.

I helped Max and Lucas thoroughly clean their room. (Why is it that they can't seem to do that on their own? They'll say it's clean and I'll go to inspect and find about a hundred more things that need to be done...) Then I actually got to work in my scrap room again for about 2 hours! Definitely a happy surprise anytime that happens. My desk is almost completely excavated now and I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So it's really only yesterday and last night that brought the blahs back full force. Here's hoping that Eva gets better quickly so that I can get back to living, and not just surviving!

I love all of the big words that you use. I think the smartest sounding word I use is plethora and that's pretty weak. I've never heard of this ailment you accused your husband of having, I'm going to have to look it up!

I hope when Eva is older she is just the easiest kid ever because she has used all her difficult kid cards up! I am right there with you with the sleep walking zombie state of mind though. I love that through it all you are able to escape in your scrap room a little at a time. I hope you are able to fight the sickies and not have to suffer through that as well. Feelin' for you!

I feared that Eva would get sick too, I'm so sorry for that. At least your Saturday was good and your scrapbook desk is almost completely excavated!! That's a major accomplishment so perhaps you should credit yourself with a few more points on that one.

I hate having the blahs and I hate it when you have them too. So since I can't be over there today this is what I'm advising...good music, m&ms, an open window, a candle burning, and clean something. Even if you have to hold Eva a lot and even if you're exhausted you can still do a few things to help yourself cope.

I'll be sending you good thoughts and wishing everyone a speedy recovery.

I say take Jill's advice. Open windows, burning candles and m&m's sounds like good therapy to me! Sorry about your sick babe. We are currently dealing with snail trails at our house as well...such a bummer. Heres to feeling better soon :)

I hope Eva gets better soon, sorry she /you had such a rough night. I was really hoping that Eva didn't get sick knowing that Lucas and Marc were sick.

That note from Lucas was too funny, you seem to be teaching him well :)

What Lucas wrote is too cute! That's so funny a little boy thought to write that, but then again we are talking about Lucas! How does Friday afternoon work for you and Eva coming by? I work until 4 so I could definitely do something after that. Also, I have money on my meal card I can't seem to get rid of (too bad that doesn't work on my debit card. hmm...), so we could get dinner or ice cream or both on my treat! I'll call you later!

I can relate on the lost sleep. So irritating and makes it so hard to do well at anything during the day. Hope things are better tonight.

Oh, no! It's so hard to keep a little kid from getting sick, and Eva just gets everything! I'll be hoping that she gets better really fast! It's especially hard that she's having a hard time sleeping. That makes everyone miserable! Michelle, I feel so bad for you. Not that it helps!

I hope you are doing better by now (it's Wednesday). Too bad Eva doesn't want to sleep her cold off!
