I can hardly believe this day has come. I never really dared to hope it would happen, and now it has! After being unable to get online for almost two weeks, and unable to get a satisfactory response from our internet provider, we took the plunge and got high-speed access!!!!!
We found a local company that comes recommended from several friends, and only costs $30 a month! I called them last Friday to set up an installation and today was the appointed day. They were supposed to come between 2-5, and so I had visions of blogging the night away, but for whatever reason they didn't get here until almost 6:00 and didn't leave until after 9:00! The installer didn't even quite finish yet -- he has to come back tomorrow to do the grounding because it was too dark outside for him to see what he was doing. So I'll have to wait till tomorrow to do some serious catching up. I have felt so very out of the loop.
I just can't believe it -- I can be online and use my phone at the same time! I can actually see all the photos and video clips that people post because I don't have to sit here for 20 minutes waiting for them to load! I can download software updates because it doesn't take hours! I can go to Ali Edwards' blog anytime I want, because it will load lightning quick! I can update my smugmug account because it won't take me all day to upload 30 or 40 photos!
And, yes, I do realize that this is all old hat for most of you, but it is oh so revolutionary for me, and I am reveling in it...

wow! that is awesome...things you take for granted......for one thing Jill is super annoyed with my set up...I don't know if it is the mac...or the lack of desk! jejejejejejejejjeej....there is real no place to put your legs or the key board except your legs and the MOUSE yes this mouse is making her go nuts....I guess I am back in the 20th century in that respect....but ohhhh at least I am connected (because the whole month of august it was kind of misery in a way...I mean you are excited you are not "slaved to the computer" but at the same time you cherrish having those wonderful benefits like you so described here! WELCOME back...we sure missed you! Jill is at Disney so we will have to wait and see how it went...I might join them for dinner...I think going with two little ones is fun but not when the kids are older and ready to go and go and go.....
So glad you are back! Hi-speed is such a luxury that I would hate to do without. Can't wait to get a re-cap of what you have been up to!

So glad you are back. So happy you found the world of dsl. How sad is it that with my husband Working wITH Qwest, that we could not get dsl. It was not available in our neighborhood. Until about a year ago, never again will I do dial up. You have been missed.
