Jessie and I went to the Making Memories warehouse sale yesterday. I went once a couple of years ago with Jill; Jessie had never gone before. We were totally excited on the way there. We were pretty excited during the shopping experience (What? 10 for $1.00?! Sign me up!). But the second we had paid (all sales final) and walked out the door, we both had a feeling of buyer's remorse.
While we do love a good bargain, we both spent more than we had planned to, and we ended up feeling like we had a bag full of stuff that wasn't terribly exciting. Don't get me wrong, it's good stuff, it's just not the newest stuff. We found ourselves wondering what new, cool stuff we could have gotten in a regular scrapbook store that we might be more excited about. Don't even get me started on how our wonderings then wandered to what we could have gotten at the Memories store, where everything is 30% off everyday (and it's only 2 exits away from where we were!)...
It wasn't a horrible experience or anything, aside from the fact that Eva cried all the way home. We both got some good things for good mail, for instance. But I really don't like that feeling of wishing I had spent my money in some other fashion. So I'm going on record now saying that I don't want to go to the warehouse sale again. You are all my witnesses. Please remind me if my resolve weakens the next time one of these sales comes around and I am itching to get some bargains, OK?

I so know what you mean about the lure of sale prices- they offer such trickery and before you know it you are in over your head. The stash you have pictured looks plentiful and hopefully as you are putting it all away or getting it ready to send out you feel better about the splurge. I am kinda glad I didn't know about the sale or I would be in a similar boat...
That would always happen to me when I would go to the Robert's sale on Provo Center. I miss all the store's in Utah.
I do that too, and then feel sorry. Especially scrapbook stuff. I already have so much and I have a sister in law who is a creative memories consultant so I get stuff from her. I hardly need more supplies, yet can't pass them up especially for a good sale. Anyway, hope that they work out for you. Glad you are up and on a quicker network WAHOO!!!
I love a good bargain, but I agree sometimes I think back and wonder if I really needed all that stuff. I would love to go to the MM sale sometime, but I live too far away!
Gosh...there is always a feeling of AHHH when you can't return things...we sure are spoiled here in the US you can practically return everything...it is soooo hard in other parts of the world. But it is true, there is always soo many possibilties...but at the same time it is always sooo nice to get things on sale...except that sometimes we do go a little nuts...
Buyer's remorse= worst feeling EVER
I did this exact same thing when we went a couple of years ago. I did get tons of stuff but it wasn't my favorite stuff. I have the self inflicted guilt over spending money I know I shouldn't have...
Was the sale as crazy as in the past? Something about that frantic feeling like someone else was going to get it first turns me into someone I don't like...
Dang! I was just thinking, like on Thursday, I wonder when the MM sale is!! I went to the fall one last year and after the shock of my total being said out loud, I so loved what I came home with!
I do so totally relate to buyer's remorse but I get over it really quick! Especially when I have stuff to share or organize!!
Which is precisely why I opted not to go to the last few. I always have buyers remorse, and I rarely use what I buy. I hope you get a lot of good use out of your stuff! I seriously think the best way to get the most from a Making Memories warehouse sale is to stop buying MM stuff for a year or so and then go. But of course, we all know that's never going to happen. . .!
This comment is very late (only a month really) and I know that you've recovered from your buyer's remorse, but that bag of stuff is pleasing to look at.
