my latest projects

Finally I've had a chance to do a little fun creating lately! I guess I've got kind of a series going of these "What I love about you right now" books. I thought it would be good to have a dedicated place to jot down all of the endearing things my kids do. Generally I scribble them on a post-it, an envelope, or, if I'm lucky, on my calendar. I thought perhaps I should be more organized about it. (Besides, when I'm feeling the effects of smotherhood, it would be great to be able to flip through and remember all the things I love about them!)

During the last week, I made a couple more of these books, both with the same papers and accents:

Hooray! One for me!

And, a slightly more masculine version for a friend of mine who has a boy. (I just can't seem to get away from the flowers and ribbons...)

Many thanks to Jill for discovering these awesome notebooks at Target for us to re-cover. I love them so much! And thanks to Jessie for coming up with using the ghost frames on the cover. Such a great idea. You can see that I borrow heavily from everyone else's ideas. The only thing that was my own is the "what I love about you right now" subject.

Ahh, to get back to doing something creative every day. I love it when I can do that. So restorative.

You're out of control. You led us to believe you were in the throws of smotherhood with Eva being whiny and sick, but apparently you were able to send 6 items of good mail yesterday and complete 2 of the world's cutest books! Hooray for you, I'm so glad you're not suicidal and regretting children. Ha.

I love those books from Target--I have a little stash going to which I can't seem to stop adding. Your embellishment of those books, though, is fabulous! You have such a knack for applying buttons and flowers in such an, I don't know, natural (?) way. I wish I could copy it, but my attempts never look as good as yours! Thanks for posting your projects. As always, they inspired envy of your talent, and an overwhelming desire to head upstairs and create something!

Jill, I have been in the throes of smotherhood -- it took me a week's worth of nights to get these done! And fortunately Eva took a real nap yesterday, which enabled me to get mail ready to send... hooray!

SO cute! I love the papers and colors and the idea- SO smart!! What is under the ghost frames? Paper? Paint? I bought some when Jessie blogged one of her books but now I don't remember what to do!!

I LOVE your cute stickers from Jill! The star is so endearing but the sticker produced pure giddiness! Thanks for the great package and thoughtfulness- I needed it today!

Cute Cute books. I love to see other ideas and what kinds of things are being used for embellishments. Fill me in on which books they are from Target. I have been looking for a cute idea and yours is one I may have to borrow. Hopefully that's okay.

I love them both! So stinkin' cute. I love the colors of the masculine one especially. So cool! Glad you are back to creating things you love.

I discovered some of those books from Target too and think they are so great.

But my question is where do you guys get your cute embellishments? I am in need of some!

I love it!!!!!!! I keep a pretty good record on my computer of everything the kids say and/or do -- however, how much more fun is it to be able to actually flip through it? Great idea!

Cute, cute, cute! You know the rest. And, I LOVE the book you made for me and Dad. Thanks! The basement is coming along! The furniture came in and I decided when I got your book that I would probably have to add a bit of orange into the scheme! Bye for now
