so sick

We haven't been doing so well here. Lucas was so sick Sunday evening and then Max started in during the night. When Lucas finally stopped throwing up around 4:00 a.m., then he got a high fever and started halllucinating! Max couldn't eat until this morning. I felt sick all day yesterday but never did throw up. Thank goodness Marc could leave work early and I slept all afternoon.

I took Lucas to the doctor today because he was complaining of ear pain and dizziness. His ears are fine, and the doctor said the dizziness is most likely the result of dehydration. So we stopped to get Pedialyte, Gatorade, and the boys' favorite, Propel. Here's the bad news, though: the doc said there's a bad strain of flu going around where the kids throw up for a day or two, then gradually feel better, go back to school, only to have the symptoms return! And it can last for 7-8 days!! Yikes.

Needless to say, we are washing hands like crazy, I am wiping everything down with Clorox wipes, and I have a mountain of laundry to do. I'm hoping that 1)the kids can go back to school tomorrow, 2)they don't start throwing up again, and 3)Eva doesn't get it!!

I will do whatever I can to help you and the rest of your family to keep clear of this. I hate when kids get sick. Oh and a word of advice stay away from anything that is red. My husband bought some gatoraide for the kids when they were sick, and well that does not come out of carpets.
I love your blog banner, and I would love to see your house, from the few glimpses I think your house looks so cute.

I will cross my fingers that your babe doesn't get it either. There is nothing worse than having sick kids. Especially throwing up. Hope you house gets well soon. (on another note if you can't get the stains out of your carpet I just cleaned my old "throwup" from when my boys were sick with club soda. It worked like a charm color and all! Feel better...

This is so sad! I hope Eva and you are able to steer clear of it. I have not had to really experience a throwing up kid, but the images of it are painful enough. I hope you all get over it and back to normal soon!

oh dear! I hope all three things work out too! I hate cleaning up after sick kids, luckily Kelly is wonderful about that! and it is compounded when you feel sick yourself, so KUDOS to you for surviving and even blogging! let me know if I can do anything!

And here we thought you'd made it through this school year with a record low number of sick days! Nothing like bringing up the numbers at the end.

You poor girl, I'm so sorry you have to deal with so much sickness. I really, really, really hope Eva doesn't get it and that your boys don't have the weird strain of flu the doctor mentioned. Keep up the disinfecting and laundry--good times.

I'll be praying for you-there's nothing to wear a mom out like sick kids- unless you get sick too! Good luck!

I hope you're all back on your feet again soon! That sounds miserable.

How horrible. They say that it's a blessing when all of your kids get sick at the same time -- but I think that it really wipes me out. It takes a week to recover from being sick -- housework, laundry, errands, etc. I am so sorry.

Oh we went through this a couple weeks ago. It was awful. Everyone got sick but tess. She never gets sick and puts her month on everything. Go figure.

Best of luck to you and hope you don't get it as well. Nothing is worse than trying to take care of your family and being sick at the same time.

I really hope Eva doesn't get it. All you need is for a sick baby to keep you up all night. Good luck. (And I hope this doesn't keep you from coming Thursday night!)
