yippee!
Marc finished assembling the trampoline today! We have been thinking about getting one since last summer, and when we found out our tax return was bigger than expected, we decided to take the plunge. We told Max and Lucas about our decision and Lucas said, "Well, we're gonna be spending a LOT more time outside!" I wanted to jump for joy and ask him if that was a promise! After discussing it with Marc's sister Michelle (she did lots of research before getting theirs), we decided to order one online that was more expensive than what we could get at the big discount stores, but also safer. Anyway, Marc ordered it on Monday, it arrived Thursday, and after many hours of work on Marc's part, it is now fully functional.
Lucas wanted Eva to get to try it out, so we let her walk around on it. She walked for awhile, then sat down and tried to bounce. The boys bounced her very gently, and I think she might have stayed out there for a very long time, but we had to remove her so the boys could jump high. I snapped some photos and here are my favorites. Lucas informed me that jumping with someone else is much more fun than jumping alone -- so come one, come all!

That looks very fun. It is so nice for them to have things to do outside. Our trampoline is in the ground which makes me feel much safer.
Wow, that idea came to fruition in a hurry, I'm impressed. I better not let my kids know it's up and running yet or I won't have any peace until we come over to try it out.
How awesome for your kids. I bet in the future they will refer to the awesome summer they are going to have as 'That summer we got the Trampoline'. Good memories in the making!
I'm happy for you guys- I think it's a great thing for them to have, and it can't hurt for you either. I can't wait to see Eva on it, and I want to try it out too. Let's see if I'm too old for that, seeing as I'm too old to swing! (It makes me sick -)
michelle,
you are going to love it it will change your life.
i bought ours at a garage sale last summer for $50. it is huge! we have no net and it is a miracle no one has fallen off. Caroline (2) goes out there and jumps by herself all the time. it is so funny. jeff and i love to jump on it. we put sally jane on there and she just laughs and sits on her bum and bounces.
get ready to watch your life change and have fun family times. you will be amazed that they will jump on as much after a year as the do the first day.
