a happy sight

We have two of these flowering plum trees in our backyard, and three in our side yard. They are now starting to bloom! This is definitely one of the highlights of the year for me. When these trees are blooming, spring is here, it's sunny and warm, but not yet too hot. I hate it when it gets so hot. I can see these flowers out of my kitchen window and it just makes me feel happy! I just went out on the deck to take this photo and noticed that my lilacs and viburnum are leafing out. I can hardly wait for them to bloom, too. My first tulips bloomed on Monday and the little purple phlox is starting to open up. It's kind of amazing to me that I haven't had a chance to do any yardwork yet, (hopefully today) but all of these pretty things are happening anyway, without any help from me.

I was doing a little surfing this morning - I went to Rhonna's site and was looking at some of the pages other people have created for the challenge. Some of their blogs had links I hadn't looked at before and I was just kind of going all over, looking for inspiration. I love to see what other people create. Check out this little album that Tara Whitney made -- so cool. I'm itching to create now. I've got the windows open and laundry going. Hoping to get outside and do something in the yard, maybe take Eva for a walk. It's looking like a good day!

Great, happy photo Michelle. I love those trees in your yard too, especially when they're in bloom like they are now. (Didn't you guys consider cutting that tree outside your kitchen window down at one point? Yikes.)

You're making me want to run around our yard and check all the progress of the plants and trees. I always check the ones in the front of the house because I go in and out so much, but I sometimes neglect to visit the trees in the back yard.

Blooming trees are so awesome and such a happy spring sign. Hope you got to go on that walk with Eva! It sure is nice out there.

Oh, and that album is really cool. I like all the little chipboard looking add-ins she has on the pages. And the clear section thing with the things in the spots. Man, I am bad at describing things today...but you know what I mean~

I love the sight of those trees so much- if only they didn't have those unfortunate "ornamental" fruit!

I loved the photo! I feel the same about spring. I love the delicate pink and white blossoms and the fresh pale green of new leaves. The vibrant colors of the daffodils, tulips and hyacinths are so beautiful. Spring makes my spirit soar! We're excited to take a walk in the rhododendron park in Eugene after church on Sunday. Lots of love & Happy Easter!
