my cute parents

We took a lot of photos during our recent trip to see my parents in Philadelphia. (I'm not really sure why we always say we're going to Philadelphia, when really they live about 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia in a town called New Hope, which is very close to New Jersey. But that's neither here nor there...) I brought home a CD with some of the pics, but the motherload arrived in today's mail. (We hadn't had time to put them all on CD & Dad did it for us after we left.)

After we had returned from church on the Sunday of our visit, we had a little family photo session. Sadly, Eva had had it and was taking a nap, so she is conspicuously absent from that block of pictures. But anyway, my point is that I took some pictures of my mom & dad together. I have very few photos of them and thought to remedy that situation. I am so pleased with the results! Mom of course doesn't like the way she looks (can't blame her, I never like the way I look in photos either), but I think she looks beautiful and my dad is so handsome.

Most of all, I love having these pictures of them together. They are so loving and natural, and have become an instant treasure to me. They will always remind me of the love I have for my parents and their giving, selfless natures, and of the love they have for each other. I love you, Mom and Dad!

What a sweet picture! You are lucky to have parents who will take picutes like that with each other. I don't think my parents are playful enough to do that--even if they wanted to.

That is a great shot. I have not ever really thought to take pictures of my parents together, so thanks for the idea!

Your comments are a treasure indeed, the photo.....of course I don't like it of me, but your father looks way cute! "I'm catching old age", as Grandma says.

Sweet! I love the way you talk about your parents. the insights you have of them and what a picture can say! a million words with just glancing at it! your mom looks like a fun person and is pretty too. your father looks dignified and gentleman like. i think they make a wonderful pair. i often think that if I ever do something good in this life is because i followed their advice--my patriarchal blessing says that pretty much. i think that picture will look beautiful in a frame
