blowing kisses!

I just had to report that Eva is blowing kisses! I tried to teach her how a few days ago, but she wasn't really doing it and I forgot about it. But just now, Marc was walking out the door and she blew him a kiss! We both exclaimed and then she started clapping and saying yay yay, which is another new thing she does now. Marc and I both noticed yesterday that she seemed suddenly big. (Granted, she's in the 5th percentile for height, but she still seems big!) Older, I guess. And she has a whole slew of new things she does, so I suppose that is probably what prompted the realization. She now makes noises for dogs, cats, pigs, cows, & fish. She says dada with real intent, and lately mama, but it's questionable if she knows what she's saying there. She says Jack and hi. She is getting serious about walking -- several times a day I see her taking a step or two and trying to get places. She also tries to climb whenever possible. She can now open cupboards and drawers, a real problem since I have yet to get some locks and install them! Baby food is losing its appeal in favor of more grown-up fare. (She is sitting in her high chair right now eating a pancake with gusto.) I just don't know how it's possible that my baby is growing up so much -- she will be a year old at the end of next month! This year has flown by. At times I feel sad that she is not so tiny and cuddly anymore. Now she wants to be moving all the time, and often this means away from me. So I just need to remember that if she stayed as tiny as she once was, she wouldn't be able to blow kisses!

** Drat! Double drat! I was going to post a picture of Eva showing how she's tiny no more, but I can't get Blogger to load one! Not from my hard drive, not from smugmug... It keeps telling me it's done, but nothing happens. I hate technology sometimes. **

"Drats," is right! I wanted to see a picture of kiss-blowing Eva. What a doll!

As you know, I think she's the cutest baby ever. All of her little "tricks" are so endearing, and watching her motor around your house is so funny. It really is amazing that she's almost one, because it seemed like the longest pregnancy ever--so how can it already have been 40 weeks of pregnancy, and then another 47 weeks of her life??? It's freaking me out too.

I want to see! Hate that technology. It sounds really cute. I can't believe Eva is almost a year old! Time flies so fast, it's not fair. Another thing to remember is that the older she gets the easier it gets. That's good consolation to me for losing my "baby."

I am there with you and my Mya is already 19 1/2 months old. I am sad, but grateful to have a little more freedom for myself. Post pictures when you have them!

That is so true...you suddenly wish for something to happen or waiting for this or that...that when it does happen you kind of what your baby back! My little one just turn 7 months and is standing up and taking little steps all the time...I think he will start walking sooner than later!

Ethan can't blow them, he just smothers his hand with kisses and smiles. I TOTALLY understand what you're saying! I do NOT have a baby any more (and you know how much I love babies!) but what Ethan is learning and his funny movements are what delight all of us each day! Something about actions using those cute chubby baby hands are my favorite!
