I'm an American Idol addict. Can't get enough. My only problem with it is that I wish you could vote people OFF the show, instead of voting for the people you like. When people get voted off before other contestants that are clearly worse, I get so riled up! For example, if Chicken Little isn't the one to go tonight, I will be furious! Yeah, he's a cute kid. Yeah, he has a decent voice, in a high school musical kind of way. But American Idol? Come on. I don't know how he made it this far.
As for the judges: I wish I never had to hear what Randy & Paula have to say. It seems like they always say the exact same thing, so it ends up meaning nothing. Simon is the only one that says anything worth hearing, if you ask me. Sure, he goes over the line occasionally, but you can count on him to tell it like it is. You'll notice the contestants feel the same way, since they are always saying things like, "Simon told me last week that xyz, so I decided to do abc in response." Clearly his opinion is the only one that really matters.

Girls: Paris, Katherine McPhee, Mandisa
I probably forgot someone. Who are you rooting for? (And if you don't watch American Idol, you are really missing out.)
{Update: I am thoroughly disgusted. Melissa McGhee has more talent than several other contestants. It was sad that she forgot some of her lyrics, but is that reason to get rid of her before, say, CHICKEN LITTLE??! Sick. She has a really great tone to her voice. America got it wrong, way wrong.}

Go Chris and Catherine. I want them in the final two--but I also want to buy a Taylor Hicks CD. I commented to Jeremy last night that at first I thought he was too weird for American Idol, but then I realized he would only be weird if he was putting on an act. He's not. He's just himself, and he loves what he does! I love watching him.
As for your thoughts on Simon, I totally agree. I think the general viewership thinks the same. The voting always seems to go along with what Simon says. I will never forget when Simon was on Oprah and he predicted that Carrie Underwood would win. We all know the ending to that story, but he knows his stuff. I didn think it was appropriate that Paula kept commenting on the contestant's dancing--since that the thing that she's really qualified to talk about. They should have her stick with that.
I agree completely with everything you said. I often fast-forward through Randy and Paula's comments if they're being too obnoxious. If I hear Paula tell someone what a "great spirit" they have and how they "gave it their all" I'm going to scream. She needs to find some new material (and what's up with the Charlie's Angel's hair she's been sporting lately?)
As for your picks on guys and gals they're my favorites too.
I am so with you on this one. Well, hopefully it will onnly be one more week for Chicken Little. Also, Kelli Pickler just doesn't have the talent although I loved the "I'm a mink" comment...hilarious!! Chris rocks and is my #1 choice!

Until now, I have never even watched any kind of reality t.v. show--now we're all addicted to American Idol! My likes and dislikes parallel yours almost identically, except that our name for Chicken Little is Bug Boy. I'm so irritated that he's still on. Have you seen his face every time he's told he's still on the show? It's almost like he's scared to death--which he probably is. He's way out of his league. We're always telling him to stick to his high school's musical, but apparently he can't hear us!
