She was lucky enough to have two of her aunts make her dinosaurs as birthday gifts. Oh, how she loves dinosaurs. And now she has formed two distinct categories of them: the button-eyes, and the plastic-eyes. (Needless to say, the button-eyes are by far the cutest.)
And Aunt Jessie, unsurprisingly, sent a disclaimer with hers. Quite possibly the longest disclaimer in history:
Dear Eva,
Thank you for choosing to adopt these 2 tragic dinosaurs. They are desperately in need of a loving home and someone to love them despite their sometimes crippling deformities.
The oldest, the mother dino, is a spry 7-years old. Secretly, we have been calling her 'Hilda', but due to the hefty Scandinavian connotations it carries we don't call her that to her face. She does carry a morbid excess of weight, causing her front legs to buckle. Due to her knock-knees and slow, lumbering gait she has been unable to shed any of her extra weight so we try to love her and keep her comfortable.
'Nessie', as we call her, is nearly 2 years old which is quite young for a large dinosaur. She seems to have inherited some of her mother's genetic er... propensities. We call her Nessie due to her splayed-leg syndrome causing her to look more like an aquatic monster than dinosaur. We've been putting her through a rigorous physical therapy regime to gain full use of her legs.
Neither of these dinos are especially attached to their names, so you can keep their names or rename them as you like. With time, affection, and regular walks these two will reward your charity with unconditional love and loyalty.
Thank you for your participation in our adopt a (tragically deformed) dinosaur program.
Your aunt,
Jessie
I love it that both Michelle and Jessie made dinosaurs for Eva! She's a lucky girl to have such thoughtful and stylish aunts!
ReplyDeleteOh so Jessie.
ReplyDeleteI'd say Eva has a great addition to the dinosaur fettish!
You are right. That disclaimer is SO not necessary but hilarious none the less. Jessie is funny. It cracked me right up. Love all 3 dinosaur names, crafty and adorable!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I am Hilda. I am Hilda! 'Slow lumbering gait'...I've found my dino twin.
ReplyDeleteGreat aunts doing exactly what great aunts do -- indulging their cute little niece.
Sissyfeet, I love it!!
ReplyDeleteJessie's disclaimer is hysterical!!
Did Eva get her dinosaur loving ways from Whitney?
Designer Dinos! They're darling. I love the adopt a dino program Jesse wrote. It's almost as cute as the dinos.
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE-
ReplyDeletelucky, lucky EVA!!
:)
Jessie is so funny! You're right, there's no disclaimer needed for those dinos. They, all three of them, are adorable! Lucky Eva to have such talented aunts.
ReplyDeleteI would take a defective anything from Jessie (and apparently Michelle too)- such cute fabrics and who doesn't love button eyes? Well- maybe Ethan after being subjected to Coraline and the "other mother" but really. SO. DANG. CUTE.
ReplyDeleteOh these are all so cute! What a lucky girl to have two aunts make her such delightful dinosaurs!
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely delightful. And Jessie sounds equally delightful...her disclaimer truly made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteThat disclaimer was probably one of the funniest things I've read. How loving of Eva to adopt the tragically deformed dinosaurs.
ReplyDeleteToo cute!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! I love reading about Eva and her antics!
ReplyDeleteThis is just too funny! I wish I could be part of the Adopt a Tragically Deformed Dinosaur Program. Eva will make an attentive dino-parent, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteOnly Jessie. Truly. I love them all!
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me?! So freaking cute.
ReplyDeleteJessie cracks me up... again... why do I not read her blog?
I think this is my first time commenting on your blog. I guess I should tell you I read your posts regularly and I LOVE your recipe blog, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI would like to ask where Eva's aunts got the patterns for the dinosaurs. My little girl also loves dinosaurs and these are too cute to pass up.
Thanks again for your thoughts and GREAT ideas. Good Luck in Paris!
