Take-out Photo's November monthly special is Still Life: A few of my favorite things.
It doesn't involve any Photoshop, so the only challenge is figuring out which favorite things to photograph. It took a bit of narrowing, but I had to go with:
There's not much I love more than letters and words, in all their forms: monograms, books, abécédaires, correspondence, typography, and yes -- even Boggle. They make me oh so happy.
What are a few of your favorite things?
You are talented with words, you and Jessie both.
ReplyDeletelove your photo.
On the couch, in fleece jammie pants with a bajio salad watching a movie after the kids are in bed.
ReplyDeleteAt-home date night!
GREAT picture, by the way!
ReplyDeleteI love this photo. It's like a simplified Eye Spy.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite things that could be photographed? Hmmmm. I'm going to think about that and do it. I'll bet food is somewhere in it.
Really nice photo, Michelle. A stack of books right next to any bed makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteI knew I liked you! Boggle is my favorite game...and it saved my mood last Saturday. Jim & I played in our bed for about an hour and haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo. I jumped into last month's challenge, but have been hesitant with this month because it seems to require some actual photography skill.
This picture is just plain happy to look at. It's interesting to me though because you have so many interests that there are many different ways you could have done this still life.
ReplyDeleteAh, that picture is so appealing and peaceful to me. I absolutely love it. It doesn't hurt that I see two of my favorite books on your stack, either!
ReplyDeleteWe'll play Scrabble someday!
ReplyDeleteFabulous composition! I love it.
ReplyDeleteFavorite things? WAY too many to name! A few would be textiles, buttons and shoes. /And, you, of course!

ReplyDeleteI like how monochromatic the photo is. Finally, someone else has done the Monthly Special! I thought this one would be easy, but apparently it's scaring people away.
ReplyDeletei love your photo composition, and when i read what marc wrote, i realized that a large part of it's appeal is the monochromatic color scheme. was that intentional?
ReplyDeletethanks for posting this. it jogged my memory that i really want to do the special this month!
Oh this is a good one! I love the colors and lighting. It is so perfect for you to have done this as one of your favorite things.
ReplyDeleteWell, I love this.
ReplyDeleteOn so many levels.
Words are absolute magic.
REALLY great photo Michelle! Now I am scared to try it!
ReplyDeleteFavorite things? It's lunch time, so all I can think of is foods.
I really, really like this photo and I think your personality and talents come through clearly in it. Fabulous job.
ReplyDeletethis is a beautiful still life about your michelle. and i couldn't agree more! i love words, maybe that's why i like to blog and read so much?
ReplyDeletei think this definitely needs to be printed and framed in your studio. perfect.
I love this photo! Is that the tray from Target that your mom gave you in the background? I love the colors. You're pretty much amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love Scrabble, but haven't played much since Grandma can no longer see to do so.
michelle this is a really cool photograph. I really love your composition.
ReplyDeleteThere is something about the way boggle looks that is so pleasing.
I've been promising myself I would go back and do all of Marc's monthly specials. I have loved looking at your contribution. I love the boggle.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get on board with this... every time I see the great things you guys are doing it reminds me that it is one more great project you have that I don't... dumb, I know, but the months go by so fast...
ReplyDeletethis pic just makes me smiley and happy. love the boggle on top of the books
ReplyDeletewonder what i would place in my fave things pic...hmmm, to narrow would be difficult
